GSM-R radio network design at the railroad including base station connectivity
Řehák, Martin ; Miloš, Jiří (referee) ; Slanina, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with the design of the radio network for the track section Břeclav-Znojmo. Firstly, the theoretical knowledge about GSM-R, Radiolab and radio relay is described. The next part deals with the measurement of the already covered section of the track and the selection of a suitable propagation model. Radiolab is designed to cover several diffusion models. The model used for the final design of the network is chosen based on the comparison of the measurement results with the proposed coverage in Radiolab. The last part describes the provision of connectivity to individual base stations. Several connectivity options are compared.
Home security system
Martínek, Marek ; Dosoudilová, Monika (referee) ; Zuth, Daniel (advisor)
The introductory chapters of this work are dedicated to types of object protection, describe the elements of the security systems and the types of sensors that are present in the security systems. The next chapters deal with detectors of other hazards rather than crime and deal with the problem of signal transmission. At the end of the thesis, security system for house or apartment is solved, based on open-source solution in development environment ARMmbed.
A System for Monitoring Vehicle Fuel Consumption
Lazárek, Zbyněk ; Kolář, Dušan (referee) ; Burget, Radek (advisor)
The aim of this thesis is to create a system that can detect fuel theft from vehicles. The systemconsists of a hardware device located in the monitored vehicles and information systemthat makes it possible to determine when and where the theft occurred. The thesis describesthe components of the hardware device and individual functionalities of the informationsystem.
Implementing of GSM modem in PBX Asterisk
Benýšek, Jiří ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Šilhavý, Pavel (advisor)
Short Message Service (shortly SMS) is the most widely used type of communication systems. The main advantages are that allow a fast exchange of messages between devices, a very good availability through GSM and a reasonable price. Nowadays the SMS service support has expanded to include other technologies such as a service of the information navigation and the remote connection. The master‘s thesis concentrates on the Short Message Service, deals with basic principles and statements using by this service. The topic of the thesis is software PBX Asterisk and its possibility of SMS implementation, especially verification of SMS processing goes through the PSTN. After the basic introduction the master‘s work deals with the installation and configuration of the server. The main focus is on an installation of the operating system with an additional pack including necessary libraries and modules for a correct working of the server. The following section is paying attention to the Asterisk server configuration, especially a hardware card installation which is necessary for a connection with analog telephones, done by Bluetooth connections, set up user’s profiles of the SIP protocol and create a dial plan. This is followed by a verification of SMS option of the implementation and communication with GSM modem which is used as a gate for an exchange SMS between PSTN and GSM network. The last chapter of this master‘s thesis comes with the aimed results.
Low-power tracking device for motorcycles
Gryžboň, Jan ; Krajsa, Ondřej (referee) ; Kouřil, Jiří (advisor)
This bacheleor´s thesis describes the design of low power tracking devices, which should be used primarily for motorcycles. The objective is realization of the equipment to be controlled by a microcontroller, which will receive location information from GPS / GSM modules from SIMCOM. The resulting tracking devices will be able to send an SMS message with date, time and GPS location of the stolen motorcycle.
Model of a shared transmission channel for future wireless communication systems
Sedláček, David ; Polák, Ladislav (referee) ; Kratochvíl, Tomáš (advisor)
The main objective of the thesis was to study modern and upcoming wireless systems and their coexistence in a shared transmission channel. Based on the knowledge gained, the design of a simplified transmission channel was implemented. The model was created in Matlab using several available extensions. The correctness of the model was verified at the end by laboratory measurements.
Hybrid module for industrial localization
Antennas for GSM bands
Rousek, Jiří ; Pokorný, Michal (referee) ; Pítra, Kamil (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with miniaturization techniques of the planar inverted-F antenna (PIFA). In bachelor thesis were simulated antennas for the GSM bands using meandering of the radiating patch, capacitive load and U-slolts. Influence of parameters of each miniaturization techniques on the antenna size and parameters were studied. The process of designing the antennas is described in detail. Selected models of antennas were adapted to given dielectric substrate and constructed. The measured results are presented and compared with simulations.
Current security trends in mobile networks
Jirkovská, Šárka ; Sobotka, Jiří (referee) ; Doležel, Radek (advisor)
This master's thesis deals with the issue of the security of GSM and UMTS mobile communication systems. In the thesis the principles of the authentication and encryption of both the mobile systems are described. Further, the constituent algorithms used for identity verification, key generation and encryption are mentioned. The commonly used algorithms are described along with their weaknesses. In the following part of this thesis, well-known attacks on GSM system are mentioned. In the part where UMTS system is dealt with one can find the algorithms used in this system to increase the security of transmitted data and authentication in comparison with GSM system. Therefore the whole process of authentication and encryption is described separately. In the last part the creation of programming models of authentication and encryption in GSM and encryption in UMTS is described. These models are created in the environment of Matlab version 2009b.
System for Automatic Object Tracking
Kerndl, Michal ; Macháň, Ladislav (referee) ; Šteffan, Pavel (advisor)
There is suggestion of obtaining exact position in this work, based on GPS and GSM modules controlled by PIC microcontroller. Layout of this work is electronic schematic, PCB footprint and theoretical analysis of used modules. The practical part of work is also dealing with software for both microprocessor and web interface. The function prototype will be created and tested in next phases of this project.
